I. General Information :

  • Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir is an English medium co-educational school run by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Calcutta Kendra and affliated to the C.B.S.E., New Delhi.

II. Admissions :

  • All information regarding admission to class VI upwards shall be notified on the school notice board.

  • Admission Forms will be distributed subject to availability of vacancy in the classes.

  • Guardians should fill in the Admission Form, if issued, with utmost accuracy. No subsequent changes will be permitted for any reason whatsoever.

  • The candidates will be tested in the standard immediately below that to which they seek admission. The selection for admission shall be made entirely on the results of these tests and subsequent interviews and on no other distinction.

  • The decision of the school authorities regarding selection of a candidate for admission is final and binding.

  • A student who has attended a recognised school cannot be admitted without a transfer certificate from the school he/she attended even if successful in the admission test. In case of students migrating from another state, the transfer certificate must be countersigned by the concerned District Inspector of Schools of the state from where the student migrates.

  • New candidate must be introduced personally by their parents or guardians who will be responsible to the Principal for the candidate’s conduct and fees.

III. Withdrawals :

  • Before withdrawing a student from the school, a calendar month’s notice is to be given. Leaving certificate will be issued only on receipt of written application from the parents/guardians and after all the dues, including the tuition fees for the whole year, to the school have been paid in full.

  • Name of pupil failing two years in succession in the same class will be struck off the rolls and considered withdrawn.

  • In case a student is not granted promotion but is willing to continue his/her studies in the same class in the next school session, the guardian should notify the school in this regard before the beginning of school session and the concerned student is required to be present on the opening day of the new session.

  • Names of pupils who have been absent from school for a period of over 10 days without prior permission are liable to be struck off the rolls and may not be readmitted.

  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness and neglect of homework, disobedience, disrespect to members of the school staff or bad moral influence will result in removal of the student from the school.

  • Notwithstanding anything in the prospectus, the school authorities may at their discretion call any parent at any time to take his/her ward out of school.

IV. Fees :

  • The school fees cover twelve calendar months and may be paid in monthly installments or in advance. No reduction is made for holidays or broken period. Pupils are liable to be charged full fees as long as their names are officially on the rolls. Fees once paid are not refunded.

  • The school fees should be deposited at the receiving counter of Indian Overseas Bank, Salt Lake Branch, housed at EA Block, Salt Lake, Calcutta-64 (Opposite Labony Housing Estate).

Payment Of Fees

  • Fees will be accepted by Indian Overseas Bank (Salt Lake Branch), between 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. from 1st to 15th of every month on all working days

  • Fees are payable in Cash / Draft / Net Banking

  • A late fee of Rs. 100/- will be charged if paid later than the 15th of every month.

  • C.B.S.E. Final candidates must clear all school dues upto March before the Pre-Board examination commences, on the date/(s) so determined by the school authorities.

  • Only those who have paid all school fees upto and including the month in which the examination is held, are permitted to appear for the examination / test. Before the final examination, all fees upto and including those of March must be paid.

  • Fees for the months of September, October and January to March must be paid in advance. All the dues must be paid before the Final Examination.

  • Those who will fail to pay tuition and other annual fees, if any, for more than two months without any cogent reason, may be struck off the rolls
